REGULATED AND AFFORDABLE, BASIC ELECTRICITY SERVICE WITH SOLAR ISOLATED SYSTEMS
Once ended the start-up of the solar systems, and by signing the contract where the basic conditions of the commitment between acciona.org and the user are expressed, the exploitation of the systems begins.
As expressed in that contract, acciona.org is the owner of the solar systems installed, and it gives the beneficiaries the right to use the electricity generated in return of a fee for service. In this way, we ensure the operation of the systems installed with Luz en Casa (Cajamarca), as well as with Luz en Casa Amazonia (Napo basin) and the community ones of the Luz Comunitaria-Cajamarca programme that are also included within this exploitation project.

EXPLOITATION ACTIVITIES
- OPERATION
Commercial management
Since we are a provider of the public electricity service, we collect an affordable fee from our users that covers the operation & maintenance of the systems and that ensures the continuity of the service offered.
In the case of the service offered in Cajamarca, the fees are managed monthly. In Amazonia, the payment of the fee results in the generation of the codes to unblock the prepayment system, and then in having electricity during the period payed.
Cut/Reconnection
In Cajamarca, if a user delays the payment of two or more consecutive fees, we cut the service and, when the user regularizes the situation, we reconnect the system.
In Amazonia cut and reconnection are not necessary because if fee payment is not done during the agreed period, the user cannot obtain the code to unblock the system and so have the electricity service.
In both cases, if there is no regularization and six consecutive fees are not payed, we dismount the system definitively.
- PREVENTIVE AND CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE
Periodically we revise the correct use and maintenance of the systems by the users, in order to detect case of not-allowed manipulation of pieces of equipment or uses; the responsibility of this task falls to the Photovoltaic Electrification Committees mainly.
In addition, we attend through the Centros Luz en Casa to the failures reported by the users, or their corresponding Photovoltaic Electrification Committee.
- REPLACEMENT
There are two cases contemplated for replacement:
- failure due to defect or other cause beyond the use of the beneficiary, or
- end of useful life.
To manage these processes in an integral way, we count on a Exploitation Management Computer System.

OTHER ACTIVITIES RELATED TO EXPLOITATION
- RURAL ELECTRICAL CONCESSION
Meeting the current Peruvian regulations, we process the Rural Electrical Concession of our systems in exploitation. This made possible, in 2011, becoming the first electricity provider of Peru with photovoltaic energy exclusively.
The concession implies a series of rights related to the electrical activity and distribution, as well as duties related to the service given to our users.
- ELECTRICAL SOCIAL COMPENSATION FUND
In 2011, we obtained the condition of provider of the electricity public service, and so we were included in the Electrical Social Compensation Fund (so called FOSE), which reduces the official tariffs to allow the access and continuity of the electrical service for home users with consumption lower or equal than 100kWh/month. This commits us to register the justifying information periodically.
The modification of the Rural Electrification Regulations -we promoted and in whose negotiations we were present- was necessary to make possible being included in the FOSE. That modification added the non-conventional rural electrification, and results in the publication of the Rural Electrical Tariff for Non-conventional Supply (solar home systems), and the change of the FOSE rates to include this new tariff.
In 2018, we promoted the revision of that tariff, and we participated in a new round of proposals, which resulted in the publication of the modification to include the 3G isolated photovoltaic systems with prepayment, and then in the FOSE.
